Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1Does it cost anything to participate?
No, participation is completely free. Anyone with an account opened via a Trading Contest link, or an IB-linked account, can participate at no cost.Open Tournament Account →
Q2Which brokers are supported?
Currently, Exness demo accounts are supported. Both MT4 and MT5 are compatible.
Q3How is the ranking calculated?
Rankings are based on ROI (Return on Investment). ROI = (Current Equity - (Starting Equity + Deposits/Withdrawals)) / (Starting Equity + Deposits/Withdrawals) × 100
Q4Why does it say I'm "Ineligible"?
You may be excluded if you do not meet a contest's entry requirements (starting balance, number of trades, lot size). The most common cause is a starting margin that is not the required amount (for demo contests it must be exactly $1,000). Reusing an account you have used before, or resetting an account's balance, will also make you ineligible. Please create a brand-new demo account set to exactly the required starting balance and re-enter. If you are short on the number of trades or lot size, your standing will be reflected in the ranking automatically once you meet the criteria within the contest period.
Q5Can I join mid-tournament?
Yes, you can enter at any time during the tournament period. However, your ranking will only reflect results from when your status changes to "Participating" on My Page.
Q6What is Read-Only Access (Investor Password)?
It is the read-only password for MT4/MT5. It cannot be used to trade and only allows viewing the balance and trade history. Trading Contest uses a single fixed value shared by all participants: "Trade@contest1". Please set the read-only password of your own Exness account to this value, and enter the same value when you sign up (it is not something you choose yourself). Because it is read-only, even if someone else learns it they cannot trade or withdraw, so it is safe.
Q7When are rankings updated?
Rankings are updated automatically at regular intervals (not in real time). Individual results may take some time to be reflected.
Q8What's the difference between Demo and Real tournaments?
Demo contests are run on demo accounts (demo funds), so no deposit is needed and they are free to join. Real contests are run on actual accounts with real funds and award cash prizes (for example, a real-trading contest co-hosted with HFM held for a limited time). Real trading carries the risk of loss. Please check the information page of each real contest for details.
Q9My trade count or lot volume is not updating correctly
Trade count and lot volume may take some time to sync after positions are closed. They are usually reflected automatically within a few hours. If they still do not appear, please make sure your positions are fully closed.
Q10My performance chart is not showing
Performance charts are updated daily around 6:00 PM (JST). Sufficient trading data is required for the chart to appear. If you recently joined or there is not enough data yet, a message saying the equity curve will appear once trading data accumulates is shown.
Q11How do I access Entry or My Page?
Click the "Login" button at the top right of the screen and sign in with your email or Google account. After logging in, you can access "Entry" and "My Page" from the navigation menu.
Q12My account won't connect / my trades aren't showing up in the ranking
You can fix it using the reconnect button in the status section of the "active contest" card on your My Page. You only need to enter three things: account number, server name, and platform (MT4/MT5); you do not need to re-enter the investor password. Please do not press the "Withdraw" button (you will no longer be able to re-join the same contest). If reconnecting still doesn't update your standing, please contact support and include the date, time, and time zone of your executed trades.
Q13Can I participate with multiple accounts?
We ask that each person participate with only one account. Trading with multiple accounts will result in disqualification and forfeiture of any prize.
Q14What happens if I "Withdraw"?
Withdrawing cannot be undone. Once you withdraw, you cannot re-join the same contest. If your account simply isn't connecting, please don't withdraw; use the reconnect button or contact support instead.
Q15What is "Market Analysis" (the daily videos)?
On weekdays we publish a daily gold (XAUUSD) market analysis video on the "Market Analysis" page. If you link your Exness account and trade live with that account, the daily analysis on the VIP channel is unlocked.
Q16Can I verify the ranking myself? Is the contest fair?
Yes. Standings are based on real Exness broker data (a read-only connection), not self-reported numbers. Every participant's account is linked using the read-only password "Trade@contest1" — a shared, public value — so anyone can log into any account in MT4/MT5 in read-only mode and check its real trades and balance for themselves. Open any row in the ranking and tap "Verify this account yourself" to see the server name, account number, read-only password, and login steps. Because it is read-only, no one can place trades or withdraw with it.
